The owners’ vision was clear – a new home featuring four bedrooms, three living spaces, an office, and a captivating two-storey void area. However, the site posed challenges – an awkward shape, a gentle slope from the street, and a north-facing orientation. One of the primary challenges was to ensure that despite the substantial structure, the rear open space would bask in sunlight throughout the year. Massing and shadow studies became the bedrock of our design approach.
